The École Parents Association (TEPA) is seeking nominations for 2025-2026 officers.
The following Officers positions have been established as required or desired based on the TEPA Bylaws as well as plans and expectations for the 2025-2026 term. All terms begin on July 1 and end on June 30.
We warmly encourage all parents to consider getting involved - joining TEPA is a meaningful way to support our school community and make a lasting impact!
President
Leads the Parents Association and helps guide the group’s overall direction. Runs meetings, supports each committee, and works closely with school leadership. The President also signs important documents, helps with transitions at the end of the year, and generally keeps everything moving forward. Requires having been an Officer at least 1 year previously
President-Elect
Supports the President and prepares to take on the leadership role in the next school year. Steps in when the President is unavailable, helps with projects, and assists in year-end transitions. This role helps keep things running smoothly while learning the ropes.
Secretary
The Secretary helps keep everything organized and documented. The Secretary's main mission is to support meeting coordination including helping to schedule meetings in advance, assisting with agenda preparation, taking notes (minuteks) during meetings and maintaining key document in a structured, easy-to-access digital archive.
Treasurer
The Treasurer manages the funds and helps keep the association financially healthy and transparent. The Treasurer's main responsibilities include: helping to create an annual budget and monitoring spending throughout the year to ensure it aligns with the budget, collecting and paying out money as needed, reviewing reimbursement requests from class reps for approved expenses, keeping accurate financial records and making sure records are available for review, preparing donation receipts, annual financial summaries, and assisting with filing IRS Form 990.
Treasurer-Elect
Works alongside the Treasurer to learn the job and offer support. Fills in if the Treasurer isn’t available and helps with reports and year-end transitions. Prepares to step into the Treasurer role the following year.
VP Middle School
Serves as the liaison for Middle School students and their families, providing both formal and informal school information. The goal is to help coordinate school-related events as well as children, parents and family activities for each section, working closely with The École staff when needed. Maintains ongoing communication with class representatives, sharing reminders and encouraging new ideas to support family engagement and student life.
VP Elementary
Serves as the liaison for Elementary students and their families, providing both formal and informal school information. The goal is to help coordinate school-related events as well as children, parents and family activities for each section, working closely with The École staff when needed. Maintains ongoing communication with class representatives, sharing reminders and encouraging new ideas to support family engagement and student life.
VP Maternelle
Serves as the liaison for Maternelle students and their families, providing both formal and informal school information. The goal is to help coordinate school-related events as well as children, parents and family activities for each section, working closely with The École staff when needed. Maintains ongoing communication with class representatives, sharing reminders and encouraging new ideas to support family engagement and student life.
Committees Coordinator
Helps recruit volunteers and create committees for various initiatives, and ensure that they stay organized and supported. Coordinates planning across events and initiatives, shares information between volunteers and leadership, and encourages parents to get involved. Helps foster collaboration and keeps things running smoothly behind the scenes.
Community Engagement
Builds connections among families and supports a welcoming school community. Leads projects such as the Parent Business Directory, and other community-building initiatives. Works alongside the Communication Lead to share updates, support class reps, and helps plan events for families and new parents.
Communications Lead
Supports the Parents Association by managing its digital presence. Creates and shares engaging content on social media, newsletter, and Monday Memo to help keep families informed and involved. Helps ensure clear communication between the association and class reps via the WhatsApp channel. Works with other committee leads to promote key updates and foster school spirit through social platforms.
Chair of Scholarship Committee
Leads the scholarship committee and helps create fair and clear guidelines for awarding scholarships and financial aid. Works within the annual budget to make sure funds are distributed thoughtfully and transparently.
Elected member of Scholarship Committee
Serves a two-year term on the committee that reviews scholarship and financial aid applications. Helps shape the criteria and works with the team to distribute support where it’s needed most. This position has a 2-year term.
